Next Chapter

Created by authors Anna and Barbara Fienberg and illustrator Kim Gamble, the Tashi series of books take kids on whirlwind adventures involving magic, mayhem and other troubles with Tashi as he battles evil of all kinds. This series is the perfect way to introduce younger children, ages 4-8, to chapter books.

Tashi and the Dancing Shoes

Tashi is always willing to help somebody in trouble. So when one of Tashi’s cousins goes missing, he immediately sets out to help find her. He sets out to ask the local fortune teller if he can help. When he receives a magical pair of shoes that let him defy gravity, he knows for certain that he will be able to rescue his cousin. Of course, somebody is going to have to rescue Tashi as he gets caught in his greedy uncle’s plan to make money with the magical shoes. And will an omelette and golden raspberries be enough to save Tashi when the fortune teller reveals that Tashi’s tenth birthday will be his last?

Tashi and the Stolen Bus

Tashi’s village has never had any cars or busses in it; everybody just walks where they need to go. But when a mechanic extraordinaire moves to the village and fixes up the abandoned bus in the woods, everybody is as excited as can be. Practically the whole village piles on for the first trip into the city to visit the market. But not all the passengers on the bus are friendly…or human. A pair of demons snuck aboard and are threatening the bus driver’s son unless he does what the evil demons ask. Tashi is going to have to thwart the demons’ scheme to steal the bus and rescue the bus driver’s son, all in time to get to the market.

Tashi Lost in the City

It has been a great harvest in Tashi’s village and it is time to take a trip to the big city for a nice, simple day of shopping. Of course nothing Tashi does can end up that simple. Almost as soon as he gets into the city, he helps save a one eyed man from a collapsed building and gets kidnapped after getting lost. Something as silly as a locked dungeon won’t keep Tashi captured, but then he discovers the one eyed man was involved in his kidnapping. Will he let Tashi go or throw him back into the dungeon?

Tashi and the Royal Tomb

It all started when Tashi’s aunt decided she didn’t want to walk all the way to town for water anymore. Tashi’s entire family got together to dig a well for his uncle. Little did anybody know that what started as a well would turn out to be an ancient burial site of historical importance. Of course, to some people, it is just a site of great financial importance. Someone has been robbing the gravesite and Tashi is determined to find out whom with a little help from a lovelorn statue. And speaking of robbery, something has happened to the town’s most important book, The Book of Spells. The Book contains many ways to help heal sick and injured people; who would be heartless and greedy enough to steal it?
