Camp Profile
Description
The mission of The Hillside School is to maximize the potential of the child with learning disabilities through excellence in education. The Elementary Program-While developing skills, we help your child to learn the most effective strategies for reading and writing, find learning strengths and build on them, understand math concepts through hands-on math activities and assistive technology, build memory strategies and develop problem-solving strategies. In our academic program, certified teachers work with groups of eight or less to help your child find the best way to learn. Our program helps children retain and build on what they have learned during the school year. While interacting with peers in the afternoon, your child will be guided in activities to promote social skills, participate in music, board games, arts and crafts and be teacher directed in physical education activities. The Study Skills Program-In this 2 week program students entering grades 6-8 will be instructed with a strategy approach to learning.
