Get Ready, Get Set, Prepare for Camp!
Okay, it’s only November and you’re thinking about the Christmas rush, not to mention
Thanksgiving dinner. But, camp season starts early even if the kids don’t hop on the bus and
drive away ‘til June. You don’t have to do much; however, you can’t just put it
off, either. Those spots fill up fast. Here a couple of tips from the American Camp Association (ACA)
to put you and your child on the right path to the best camp.
In November, consider:
- Signing up for camp mailing lists
- Seeking recommendations from friends
- Finding out and meeting the application deadlines
- Reviewing camp prospects with your child
This winter, do:
- Attend Camp Fairs
- Apply to camps
- Read and discuss with your child to prepare
- Schedule camp physical for spring
- Arrange travel to & from camp
- Inventory gear and make list for spring shopping
