Description

Reading ASSIST® Institute is a private non profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization and an approved Supplemental Services Provider under No Child Left Behind. Our mission is to improve the reading skills of those children who struggle most to learn to read.
We offer private one-on-one tutoring sessions using our specialized, multisensory curriculum to families who seek supplemental resources to improve their children’s reading skills.

Reading ASSIST® Institute was founded by a mother who struggled for years to find help for her son, who, at the age of 12, still could not read. When she finally found a method that was successful at helping her son learn to read, she vowed to use what she had learned to help children with reading difficulties and their families so that other children would not have to suffer as her son. As a result she founded Reading ASSIST® Institute in 1989 and has helped thousands of children learn to read since that time using the uniquely effective curriculum she developed.

Before beginning tutoring, each child is assessed to determine strengths and weaknesses, and tutoring is then tailored to each child’s individualized needs. Children are then placed with experienced tutors who have undergone a 36 hour intensive training based upon the latest research findings about techniques and strategies that work best to help those children who struggle most to learn to read. Those tutors work with children until mastery of reading skills is achieved. Throughout the tutoring process all tutors are mentored by experienced Reading ASSIST® Institute “master” tutors ensuring that your child gets the best tutoring possible. Each tutor is required to submit weekly reports on your child’s progress to Reading ASSIST® Institute. If requested, an additional copy of this report is sent to parents.

The cost for 1 hour of tutoring/week is $50 with discounted prices for more frequent weekly sessions. Two hours/week of tutoring is $90 and 3 hours/week of tutoring is $125.

We understand the frustration and helplessness parents feel when they see their child struggle and they don’t know where to turn for help. We can help your child overcome reading difficulties and unlock the written word…one sound at a time.
