“We want to create memorable ice cream experiences for our guests, so we’re adding The Ice Cream Lab–where creativity meets sweetness for entertaining education,” Timm Pitts, owner of Ice Cream World II, in Walnutport, Pa., said.

The Ice Cream Lab is first of its kind on the East Coast, which will seat up to 30 guests and host some of the most unique parties in the area, as well as weekly “kitchen chemistry” classes for preschoolers and elementary-age children. With a Grand Opening scheduled for May 15, The Ice Cream Lab plans to kick off the season with mini-day camps running from June through August, followed by creative “kitchen chemistry” classes in September.

But you don’t have to be a child to enjoy the magic of ice cream. The Ice Cream Lab will feature two large viewing windows with an additional room for overflow parlor seating, so that customers of any age can get a close-up look at how all those terrific flavors are made. Stop by any weekday to catch the Ice Cream World Lab assistants creating their newest flavors right before your eyes. If that’s not enough and you still want to try the Ice Cream Lab out for yourself, you can–each and every Sunday evening during Family Fun Night. The Ice Cream Lab will open at 7p.m. for a FREE interactive and entertaining 30-minute lab experience that involves the whole audience. Guests will brainstorm and choose from several premium ice cream flavors and mix-ins to help invent, and name a brand new flavor. Not only do they get to watch it being made, they get to sample it too! If it’s a hit, it will be featured on the menu board for the next week and added to the Ice Cream Lab’s Periodic Table of Ice Cream.

Since Sweet Time Birthday Parties will now be held in The Ice Cream Lab, they’ve been upgraded to include hands-on experiments where kids, clad in lab aprons, get to make their own version of homemade ice cream, and waffle bowls too! After learning some interesting facts about the history of ice cream, they’ll also have a chance to participate in a live demonstration of how Ice Cream World combines secret ingredients into their magical formula for sweetness. Parties will be available beginning June 1 and are anticipated to book quickly. Additional party choices which are sure to be a recipe for fun, include Make Your Own Pizza, Mexican Fiesta, Endless Pastabilities, and PJ Breakfast Parties.
